Scotts Bluff County Tourism is looking for artists to submit logos to help celebrate the county’s 125th anniversary. Scotts Bluff was one of four additional counties divided off from Cheyenne County in 1888.
Brenda Leisy, director of Scotts Bluff County Tourism, said the county will still use their current logo, but are looking for something special for the 125th anniversary commemoration.
“The committee met and decided it’s important to have a logo that represents this important anniversary,” Leisy said. “We’re sponsoring a logo contest that’s open to absolutely anyone.”
She said the tourism committee didn’t include a specific theme or regulations on the contest so artists would be free to express themselves.
“The only stipulation we ask is that the logo portrays something related to Scotts Bluff County,” she said. “It can be historic, modern, or whatever the artist chooses.”
Deadline for submitting a logo is Dec. 31 at 3 p.m. and may be dropped off at the Farm And Ranch Museum. County employees will serve as judges and the winner will be announced next March, the anniversary month of the county’s formation.
Leisy said while the county can’t offer prize money for the winning logo, the artist’s work will be featured prominently throughout the year for all the events and promotional materials that will happen throughout the year.
