On March 15, 1865, the Denver ‘Rocky Mountain News’ reported: “The Camels are coming. The Overland Camel Company, it is announced, is rapidly completing its preparations for business. They propose carrying the great Overland mails and also the local mails on side roads. Omaha is named as the starting point on the Missouri and Sacramento as the Pacific terminal…”
