One of Gering’s long time businesses, 21st Century Water Technologies, is getting ready for a move to larger quarters.

The company is a division of 21st Century Equipment and will join 21st Century Equipment, which is already at their new location on the south Beltline Highway in Scottsbluff. The buildings formerly housed Aurora Loan Services and also served as classrooms for Gering’s Lincoln Elementary School for a school year while a new building was being constructed.

Operations Manager Devin Furby said 21st Century Water Technologies is the irrigation division of 21st Century Equipment, selling and servicing pivots. They also carry a full line of flood irrigation components and provide sales and service for subsurface drip irrigation.

“The upcoming move to our new facility highlights our commitment to our customers and to the growers in our area,” Furby said. “It’s definitely an upgrade to our facilities.”

He added everything came together at the right time, as their lease in the Gering facility was about to expire. The company still needs to complete the construction work at the new location before receiving an occupancy permit. The plan is to be in the new facility by the end of February.

Their other division, 21st Century Equipment, is the John Deere equipment dealer in Bridgeport. That part of the company will remain there, but the corporate support center has already settled into the Scottsbluff location.

Owen Palm, CEO of 21st Century Equipment, said the new facility houses the finance department, information technology and the operations group.

“We simply outgrew the office space we had available in Bridgeport,” he said. “Virtually all of our staff already lives in the Scottsbluff and Gering area, so this saves them a 40 minute commute to work every day.”

He added that as the company continues to grow, larger and newer facilities will make it easier to attract additional support staff.
