Whether you need a morning coffee fix, or an afternoon ice cream to cool off from the dog days of summer, the Stage Coach Stop in Gering is the place to go.
Gourmet coffee is featured in all flavors, from Americano to Latte and more. About anything to do with ice cream is also available, from sundaes, malts and shakes, floats and slushees.
The ice cream and coffee shop at Stage Coach Stop is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. A drive-up window is also available. Just remember to ring the doorbell to the left.
Owner Kent Ewing said that part of the convenience store was “low functioning” and he brainstormed ways to make use of the space. “People were telling me they’d like to have a coffee shop that had drive-up access. Plus, there’s no real ice cream shop in Gering. That’s how I came up with the idea. And it’s a convenience for our local customers to get their morning coffee at our drive-up window.”
The shop opened in June, and Ewing said he’s already seeing regular customers who come for both coffee and ice cream.
“The people I’ve talked with really enjoy it,” Ewing said. “The coffee is something they really like. We get ours from a company in Wisconsin, so our coffee beans are different from most other places. We grind and brew it as it’s ordered, so it’s always fresh.”
Both the ice cream and coffee shops can be found inside the Stage Coach Stop, 320 M Street in Gering.
