|City starts demolition on block for hotel|

Several buildings at the northeast corner of 10th and M streets in downtown Gering are currently being removed in preparation for a planned Cobblestone Hotel on the site.
At their Feb. 29 meeting, members of the Gering City Council approved a bid from Precision Demolition of Torrington, Wyo., to remove the former Prairie Pines Quilt Shop building, the former laundromat and two houses for a cost of $45,707.
