About 110 brave souls waded into a frigid North Platte River on Feb. 27 to help a special cause.
The fifth Polar Plunge raised more than $22,000 for Special Olympics. Historically, even when the weather warms to spring-like temperatures, the water remains below freezing.
“I remember the temperature from every one of them and this was the warmest,” said Mark Overman, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff.
