For the past 20 years, the Minatare Schools has been working toward building an emergency shelter and community room at the high school. On a cold and windy March 25 morning, that dream started to become a reality.
Mayor Jerry Harms, longtime residents and members of the Minatare School Board braved the elements to shovel the first piles of dirt, officially starting the project.
