Kimball golfers win WTC Tourney

BAYARD — Kimball golfers extended their win streak to four straight as they held off host Bayard to take the Western Trails Conference meet last Saturday. Kimball, with a team score of 341, placed four golfers in the top 10. Bayard took second with a 352 score. Mitchell finished third in 380, followed by Bridgeport with 402, Hemingford at 455 and Morrill at 512.

Gordon-Rushville, finishing last, was not scored, but had the individual top finisher in Renen Sahr, who fired a 71. Teammate Trey Hardin was eighth at 87.

Todd O’Hare led the Kimball Longhorns, finishing third with an 81 score. Teammate Jeff Greenwood was fifth at 85 and Henry Heeg shot an 87 for seventh place.

The host Bayard Tigers had three golfers place in the top 10. Trae Blanco was second with 75. Tyson Schmunk was fourth at 83 and Joe Hernandez in ninth with an 87.

Also in the top 10 was Tyler Frickey of Bridgeport, posting a sixth-place 86.
