Clean out the grass bag, tune up the engine, and head down to the grandstand for the seventh annual Lawn Mower races on Tuesday, July 31 at 7 p.m. The annual event is sponsored by area FFA Alumni to help cover the costs of current FFA members’ leadership trip to Washington, D.C.
Each year the event draws competitors from Scottsbluff to Chadron. Competitors young and old bring out the best of the lawn grazers. This year will bring the special addition of the cart racers from the Hi-way 92 Raceway.
There are three classes of lawn mowers, so whether you want to race a souped up mower machine or just the one that cuts your grass, there will be a class to compete. All racers sign up the day of the race. Competitors will pay a $10 fee and fill out registration paperwork.
