Morrill Girls Advance to C2-6 District Final

The Morrill Lady Lions basketball team took on the Hemingford Lady Bobcats on Thursday, February 17 at Gering in game three of the C2-12 Subdistricts. The Lady Lions beat the Lady Bobcats by a score of 66 – 52 to advance to the C2-6 District Final against North Platte St. Pats at Sidney on February 25.
Morrill overcame some foul trouble in the early part of the second half, and eventually pulled away for a comfortable fourteen point win.
Jessica Aratani led the Lady Lions with 20 points, followed by Kasandra Gomez with 17 points, Alex Howell with 14 points, Kayla Jacobsen with 11 points, and Brooke Snyder and Mayra Ruiz with two points each.
For Hemingford, Briley Hanaford put up 19 points, Brooke Foster had 11 points, Sammi Huss had nine points, Kelsy Wood had eight points, Katie Heitz had four points, and Baily Wood added one point.
Morrill’s game against North Platte St. Pats on February 25 will begin at 6 pm Mountain Time.
