Gering PVC round-up

Gering PVC undertook a weekend of struggles in going winless in the Thom Stallard Tournament in Crete, scoring just one run in three games.

In a 4-1 loss Saturday to the North Platte junior team, Gering was held to just three hits and committed four errors.

Elijah Timblin was 1-for-2 with a double and one walk and scored the 36ers' lone run in the on Caleb Geary's sacrifice fly. Dillon DeMott took the pitching loss as Gering PVC's starter, allowing all four North Platte runs (just one earned) on four hits going 4-2/3 innings.
On Friday, Post 36 was dealt an 11-0, no-hit loss to Gretna and a 13-0 defeat to Elkhorn Mt. Michael , both in five innings.

Gering PVC had five hits against Mt. Michael, led by Timblin who went 2-for-2. Nick Ferreyra had a double in leading the 36ers' other hitters.

Ferreyra also took the pitching loss for Post 36, allowing 13 Mt. Michael hits and 11 runs, 10 earned, with two strikeouts and one walk.

In its no-hit loss to Gretna, Gering PVC committed two errors and allowed seven fifth-inning runs that ended the game on run rule. Timblin took the pitching loss, allowing 11 hits and all 11 runs, just five of which were earned.

Gering PVC entered Tuesday's game with a 6-11 record.
The 36ers were to play host to Wheatland, Wyo., on Wednesday night before they head to Sidney for a 7 p.m. game Thursday. On Saturday, Post 36 plays a split doubleheader at Cleveland Field in Scottsbluff. At 2 p.m., Gering PVC plays Poudre Valley, and then squares off against the Westco Zephyrs with a scheduled start time of 7 p.m.
