The team from left are Dillon Broussard, Morgan Broussard, Amber Kistler, Jared Schwab, Santana Mitchell, and TJ Morrow. This year’s tournament had 41 teams, 83 games and lasted 11 hours.
Mud Volleyball was back and better than ever this Oregon Trail Days. Last year, the event was created to celebrate Gering’s 125th celebration. It was a hit among Oregon Trail Days attendees and was added to the annual line-up of events. Other communities have also added mud volleyball to their local community celebrations like Minatare’s Tabor Days.

This year there were double the courts, deeper water, and beer garden to celebrate this dirty event. 41 teams gathered at Five Rocks Amptheater for this year’s double elimination tournament. The tournament began at noon on Saturday and lasted for a grueling 11 hours. 82 games were played but only one winner could be named.

This year’s champions of the second annual Mud Volleyball Tournament were team Country Folk consisting of members: TJ Morrow, Jared Schwab, Dillon Broussard, Morgan Broussard, Santana Mitchell, and Amber Kistler.

Here are the results of this year’s Oregon Trail Day’s Mud Volleyball Tournament:
