Barr’s Bacon Wrapped Fantasy Picks

Previously on Barr’s Bacon Wrapped Fantasy Picks…

“I am honestly surprised Brady and Brees are being drafted so high.”
Did Brady tweak his knee? Will he be okay? Buy an ear candle at the next farmer’s market and clean the wax. Now are you listening?
If you have not drafted a fantasy football team yet, get off the couch and contact me at fantasyfootball@geringcitizen.com. Limping around like Roddy White at a pity party doesn’t help. BTW, White is tentative. Brady was cleared to play last weekend but it seems like a good year for him to take a break and regroup.

Preseason is like reading “50 Shades of Grey” hoping for a climax from what I am told…all interesting but lackluster.
QB—Brady dropped. RGIII and the staff are good. Bears are bringing on another QB which leads me to believe the Bears are wanting to use Cutler for trade bait or he is not as healthy as they want. Eagles are in a QB battle which is never good for drafting. Campbell in Cleveland might be a gem if RB Richardson stays healthy. Luck be a lady this year.

RB—I have to pull back a bit on Doug Martin from Tampa. He will be fine but with concussion rules as they are…a little dangerous. Charles is still rising from KC. May draft him first after I get 9 people to compete….seriously 9 people. One more week and then I send invites out. BTW, hit up Alfred Morris. Always Lynch from Seattle.
WR—White is hurt, Cruz is hurt. Welker took a beating from the Seahawks but still put up good preseason numbers. I still think Denver WRs are viable.

Cincy is looking better at this position but once again…putting animosity aside…Dez Bryant is moving up. Makes me choke just having to write his name.

TE—Keller is out. Gronkowski is pretty and selling at $19 in auction drafts. Should be worth $25 but how many games is he playing? With the arrest of Hernandez, the Patriots are alright but not great. I find it impressive Gonzalez is still going third for TE’s. His wife said go play or maybe she wanted him out of the house. Wink.

D/ST—Seahawks duh. Broncos drop. Texans actually might be what they are supposed to be this year. I know it is preseason. Look at Browns and Arizona. Browns are old school but young. Arizona is coming to fruition which makes the NFC West even tougher.

Flex—Sometimes called “Utility.” Sweet good gravy. This position is crucial because there are so many bonus points here. In fact, a lot of points to be had here. I did draft two more teams this weekend. Based on those drafts, Amendola from the Patriots, Smith from Baltimore and Isaiah Pead from St. Louis.

K—I really hate wasting time on this but I have lost too many close games. Obviously, look for an explosive offense. Just stick with the Matts’. Matt Prater from Denver and Matt Bryant from Atlanta.
Here is the deal. I know a lot of you are lazy. It’s football season, we get lazier. Next week I throw in cooking tips for tailgating.

But for now, get off your couch or recliner or bed and join fantasyfootball@geringcitizen.com. Also watch for the Pick ‘Em contest. Honestly, if you are in bed watching football, you are weak. I leave you with bacon which is tasty especially with eggs or taters. Some guy said Saints. I say Zatarain’s with jalepeno sausage.
