Minatare Indians rely on veteran players

The Minatare Indians walk into the 2013-14 season with their heads held high.
“This year’s Indian team returns a bunch of juniors which have had starting experience,” said Head Coach JJ Ozuna. “Younger guys being able to step up and fill shoes will be crucial.”

The Indians finished 1-5 in conference and 1-7 overall last year. This year looks to be on the upswing regardless.
“A big advantage this year is having some depth at all positions on the field and still maintaining the competitive edge,” said Ozuna. “If everyone stays competitive, there should be no reason why we couldn’t find a lot of success throughout the season.”

Wauneta-Palisade and Sioux County will once again provide a worthy adversary.
“With the strength of our veterans, we look to fight,” said Ozuna.
The Indians will face Sioux County at home this Friday. It looks like Minatare is poised for a great football season.
