Bearcat golfers secure first place at Alliance

ALLIANCE – The Bearcats boys saw impressive performances on the green in Alliance Saturday, taking a first place title with a team score of 300. Alliance was second as a team with 327 and Gering was in third place with a team score of 337

Bearcat Curtis Welsh earned third place with a 75, while Jared Pilkington followed in fourth with a .75. Sean Mercer-Smith secured seventh place with a 79 and Jonah Wright brought up the rear in eighth place with a score of 80.

Gering was led by Austin Kaufman in fifth place at 76, followed by Grant Maser in 10th at Kraiger Ebbers brought in 88 and Alex Lupher shot a 92. Mark Montague shot a 98.

Gothenburg Invite

Gering and Scottsbluff golfers were among 14 teams that participated in the Gothenburg Golf Invite on Thursday, April 24. For the team results, Scottsbluff placed second overall with 330 points. Gering was sixth with 356 points. Individually, Scottsbluff’s Koy Potthoff led the Bearcats with second place at 79, while Curtis Welsh tied for third place at 80 with North Platte’s Kort Steele. Scottsbluff’s Jonah Wright came in with a tie for fourteenth place and Sean Mercer-Smith was sixteenth amid seven others at 86. Gering’s Kraiger Ebbers came in tied with eight other players for sixteenth place at 86. Gering’s Austin Kaufman was 25th, tied with two others at 88. Grant Maser brought up the rear at thirty-third place with a 90.
