CHAPPELL — Bayard sophomore Jessi Smith claimed three individual event titles and a fourth gold as a relay anchor in leading the Tiger girls at the Minuteman Activities Conference Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Creek Valley High School.

The Bayard girls compiled 122 points, edging runner-up Potter-Dix by nine points. Leyton was third with 84 points.

Bayard was led once again by the versatile Smith, who posted victories in the 200 and 400-meter dashes and the 800-meter run.

Smith also ran the anchor leg on the Tigers’ winning 4x100 relay team, which included senior Haley Sauer, sophomore Miah Vera and junior Chellani Parriott.

Area boys’ winners included a double victory for Mario Sanchez of Minatare with his wins in the 100 and 200 dashes. Indian teammate Robert Ellis took the triple jump title.

For Banner County, Brenton Soule won the 3,200 meters.
