The Mitchell Tigers volleyball team is ready to take on the season hosting the Hemingford Bobcats tonight at Mitchell High School. The game starts at 7 p.m. Head coach Michelle Peters said the lady Tigers were ready for action but noted that Hemingford is bringing a good team to town.

“They have some good athletes so we will have to be ready to play,” Peters said.

This will be Peter’s 13 year as Mitchell’s Head Volleyball Coach and she is ready for another season.

The Lady Tigers went 22-6 last season and hope to continue to build on that success. Returning varsity seniors this year are Felina Blanco, Aspen Reifschneider, Kady Lower, and McKenna Zulkoski.

Peters said practices have been going well and the team has a good balance of offense and defense.

“The girls are working extremely hard and improving more and more each practice,” Peters said.

“One of our goals is to have more than 20 wins this season. We have some great kids and good athletes, so this should be very realistic for our team.”
