WNCC women go to 7-0 with big win over Colorado Northwestern

GILLETTE, Wyo. — The No. 16 Western Nebraska Community College women’s basketball team put together a team-effort performance in running by Colorado Northwestern Community College 90-53 to remain unbeaten on the young basketball season.
The Cougars had five players in double figures in the win to move to 7-0 on the season. The Cougars will look to add to the winning streak next weekend when they host the Lady Cougar Classic on Friday and Saturday.

Saturday’s win, however saw the Cougars knock home seven 3-pointers, including four from Lyndie Puckett, and also shoot 52 percent from the field. The Cougars also dished out 22 assists.
Despite playing well, the Cougars really never were threatened. WNCC held a 46-26 lead and expanded on the lead in the second half for the easy win.

WNCC was led by Lile Havili with 16 points followed by a double-double performance from Abi Lujan with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Also for the Cougars, Yeliz Dogan poured in 14 points along with 12 from Puckett, and 11 from Kalli Feddersen with 11.
