Coming off a great season last year the Lady Tigers basketball team is looking promising in early practice and they hope to repeat their success as Western Trails Conference Champions.

“We had a record of 18-6 last year,” said Head Coach Brock Ehler. “We are Class C-1 school and play in the C-12 Western Conference as well as the Western Trails Conference. “

Ehler said he was excited for the coming season and was looking forward to playing hard and using speed as an advantage.
“We want to improve and be playing our best basketball come February,” he said. “We want to continue to improve our team unity and put the puzzle together will each individual which will allow us to play our best basketball.”

Ehler said the Lady Tigers play a very good schedule and a large number of Class B schools on the road.

“We know the Western Trails Conference will be very competitive. The teams in the Panhandle this year will be extremely close in competition no matter what class level. I feel each of these teams can beat one another on any given night.”

There are a total of 18 girls on the team this year ranging from 9th to 12th grade.

Seniors and top upperclassmen noted by Ehler are Aspen Reifschneider, McKenna Zulkoski, Kady Lower, Felina Blanco and Barbara Pieper. Ehler also noted that freshman Jori Peters is proving to be a promising newcomer for the team.

Ehler has been the Head Coach for the Lady Tiger for three years and works with Junior Varsity Coach Marty Gillen and 9th grade coach Rod Ehler.

“We look forward to having a fun season and competing against all of the other local talent,” he said.
