MAC teams take to the hardwood

The top seeded Minatare Indians’ boys basketball team is hosting its first game as the Minuteman Activities Conference Tournament gets underway from Jan. 18-23.

The opening round is Monday, Jan. 18 as the Indians take on the #8 seed Bayard Tigers at 6:30 p.m. in the Minatare High School Gym.

Other games are also scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Potter-Dix, seeded #4, will host the #5 Leyton Warriors. The #3 seeded Garden County Wildcats will host #6 South Platte in Oshkosh and #2 Creek Valley hosts #7 Banner County in Chappell.

The semi-final and championship games will be played at the Sidney Middle School, scheduled for Jan. 21 and 23. Tickets are $4 for adults and $3 for students and conference passes will not be accepted.

In the girls’ bracket, all opening round games start at 6:30 p.m. Top seeded Potter-Dix will host the #8 seeded Minatare Indians on Tuesday, Jan. 19. The Bayard Tigers, seeded #4 in the tournament, will play host to #5 South Platte. Creek Valley at #3 will host #6 Garden County at Chappell, and second seed Leyton will host #7 Banner County at Dalton.

Semi-final and championship games are scheduled for Jan. 21 and 23 at Sidney Middle School.
