Bulldogs stomp Bison for trifecta
     2016-02-19      By Sue Wengler    editor@geringcitizen.com
The Gering Bulldogs’ (14-7) strong defense against the McCook Bison keyed a 64-39 victory Saturday ending the Bulldogs’ East–West Shoot-Out run with a 3 -0 record.

Junior Christian Rogers came out strong in the first quarter scoring 4-of-9 from the field and grabbing five rebounds. “Our rebounding effort was pretty good today,” he said.

The Bulldogs outpaced McCook 21-9 in the second quarter.

Streaky shooting by Gering, exemplified by junior Dylan Radzymski’s last-second shot after the buzzer at the end of the third quarter, sent the Bulldogs into the final quarter up 53-31.

Gering held McCook to 39 total points. Three Bulldog players notched double digits in scoring. All 14 varsity players got playing time with 11 individuals getting buckets.

Junior Keaton Ebbers said, “I feel good about going 3-0 for the weekend.”
