Rachelle Palser prepares to lay down a bunt in Scottsbluff’s game against Sterling, Colorado, on August 22. So far, the Bearcat Girls Softball team is off and running, starting the season at the Lexington Invitational, losing their first game by one run on Friday, August 19, to the host Minutemen, 9-8, then getting a 21-10 win against Alliance, and a 6-5 win over Chadron, with a 13-4 loss to Gothenburg in between during action Saturday, August 20. In their most recent contest, the Bearcat women topped Sterling, 13-9, at home this past Monday. The game between the Bearcats and Gering Bulldogs on Thursday, August 25, was played after press time. Scottsbluff is scheduled to play Chadron at home on Tuesday, August 30.
